Student Vouchers

As a student one of the greatest lessons you’ll learn at university won’t be taught in the classroom or lecture theatre. Being good with your money is an absolute must if you’re a student, because for many people it’s the first time they’ve ever been away from home, and the first time they’ve ever had to think about budgeting for things like buying food, paying rent, and even buying clothes. One of the best ways in which you can maximise your budget is to use vouchers.

What are vouchers?

Vouchers are usually pieces of paper that you can print off to take into your favourite stores. They can give you anything from a free cup of coffee, to money off your weekly shop. Vouchers are nothing new, but they are a great way to grab a bargain. With the internet has come a new form of voucher, in the way of voucher codes. These are entered on checkout when you’re purchasing something online, and doing so will give you money off, or some other perk.

Where can I find vouchers?

There are several good websites setup specifically for students, there’s, and They’re both a great source of student vouchers and specialist student deals. You can also expect to find lots of vouchers aimed at the general public on sites like and also

Where possible it’s a good idea to sign up for mailing lists so that the hottest new vouchers are emailed directly to your inbox – that way you’ll never miss out on a great deal, and you’ll be the envy of all of your friends. You don’t have to stop using discount vouchers once you’ve graduated – you’ll probably get hooked on using them and go on to use them for the rest of your life. Using voucher codes is a fantastic way to pick up the latest gadgets, food, clothes and even holidays at crazy low prices.

It’s up to you to decide how serious you take this voucher business, but the fact is you can make huge savings if you do employ the use of vouchers. For example if you have a pizza night every week you must check out the Pizza Hut vouchers that these sites carry. They tend to give 50% off on a £40 spend, or even £10 off a £25 spend. If you all club together in your student accommodation you can make some amazing savings. Nothing tastes better than heavily discounted pizza! Remember to check out other pizza shops like Domino’s too – they also offer lots of good deals and discount vouchers.

Voucher alternatives

Some websites offer student discount. All you need to do is sign up using your university email address (which must end in – and you’ll get a discount. It’s a really easy way to save money – so before you go splashing out on an order do a few checks to see if there’s any money to be saved with that retailer.

As well as student vouchers you should also look to sign up with the cashback services out there like Top Cash Back or QuidCo. These services are really good because they give you a percentage of your purchase price back. Of course it doesn’t run into hundreds of pounds, but pennies tend to mount up at the end of the day.

Before you make another purchase online ensure that you check whether or not there are any voucher codes that you can use, and whether or not the retailer you’re going to buy from is enrolled on a cashback program. If they are, you could well end up saving yourself a packet!
